BSB ORIOLES COMPLETE STORYBOOK FINISH. Starting out at 1-2 after 3 games into the season, the Orioles ran the table to win the last 13 straight to win the regular season and tournament titles for the 2010 BSB season. This marks a storybook finish as the O's go from worst (in 09') to first place this year. The championship game with the Rangers, defending champs, was an all out marathon offensive battle as the O's withstood a barage of longballs to hold onto an 18-17 victory. The O's had many heroes offensively, once again, as they have all year. Adding only a few new players at key positions, O's Coach, Mickey Kocur says, "we pretty much had the same guys as last year, but the few additions greatly improved our team over the few we lost...these guys could play!" Getting quality pitching all year from Jeff Ecott and Gary Tackett, along with a surprise behind the plate in Bill Mattingly, "these guys brought us together, because I knew we'd be able to make the plays, especially up the middle at shortstop and also second base with Greg Kellner and lastly in CF with Bud Price. Another addition, Mike Quinn, came through time and again with very timely hitting. "In baseball, it all starts up the middle and we were able to put it all together for most of the season." The Orioles team has become balanced enough that they have chosen not to pick an MVP of their own, deciding to keep it as a complete team accomplishment. Virtually every player said it would be too hard to pick just one. The Orioles became a well balanced team this year which rarely beat themselves. They look forward to defending their titles next year. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2010 BSB CHAMPIONS- THE ORIOLES
